It's even more exciting if the help comes from the country's first citizen, in this case, Tanzanian president H.E Samia Suluhu Hassan, who has offered to charter a private jet for the side, as revealed by club president Hersi Said.

With a major interclub competition final around the corner for Young Africans, any support rendered in their quest to win their first CAF Confederations Cup title is readily welcome.

It's even more exciting if the help comes from the country's first citizen, in this case, Tanzanian president H.E Samia Suluhu Hassan, who has offered to charter a private jet for the side, as revealed by club president Hersi Said.

"I am happy Tanzanian football is getting more support from the government; it's great because it helps the game grow," Said noted while appearing on Soccer Africa, an African football magazine show on Supersport.

"For example, our president H.E Mama Suluhu Hassan Samia has promised to get us her private jet which will fly us to Algeria for the return leg, and we're grateful for the help."

The soft-spoken administrator was also on hand to explain the contract situation of some of Yanga's star players, especially in-form forward Fiston Mayele and the club's transfer targets.

"Our first position is to keep our best players, the second is to allow them to go because they're not slaves.”

“But yes, we have a few players we are looking at in the PSL; we want to take them to Tanzania," Said noted.

Mayele has been in rich form scoring six goals on the continent and netting 16 times in the league; he has a year left on his current contract.

The two-legged final will take place first on the 28th in Dar-es-Salaam before a return leg in Algiers on June 3rd 2023.
