FOOTBALL CAF CL final stage set as Al Ahly seeks revenge against Wydad
Record champions Al Ahly will face Wydad Casablanca yet again, having lost 2-0 in the one-off final, played at the Stade Mohammed stadium, a venue Al Ahly protested against and went to the CAS but were unsuccessful.
It was Tau’s fifth goal in the competition this season; after the break, the Red Devils kept their foot on the pedal.
They were rewarded with Hussein El Shahat again doing the dirty work before he crossed for Mahmoud Kahraba to slot home his eighth of the campaign to double the lead.
Wydad got a consolation through Saifeddine Bouhrati with three minutes to go, which will go a long way in spicing up the return leg set to take place on 11th June at the Mohammed IV complex in Casablanca.
Wydad won the previous edition of the competition beating Al Ahly in a one-legged final in Casablanca.
The Red Devils are chasing a record 11th continental interclub title, while Wydad is looking for a fourth title in the competition.
