The Gunners started the game on the front foot and dominated the game but could not penetrate the defence of Crystal Palace.
They got their first chance of the game in the 36th minute when Eddie Nketiah’s effort hit the post after chipping over the bar when inside the six-yard box.
Shortly after, Declan Rice finds the Arsenal forward in the box and only just Sam Johnstone to beat and opts for a chip that does indeed clear the Palace keeper, but also the bar.
The referee blew the whistle for halftime with the game still goalless and Arsenal dominating most of the possession.
The second half started and Arsenal continued their possession-based football as Crystal Palace held their lines.
Arsenal's pressure paid off in the 54th minute when Martin Odegaard sees Eddie Nketiah, send a free-kick into the box for him to meet, take the ball away from Sam Johnstone and then go down after contact from the keeper.
The VAR reviewed the incident and deemed it fit to be a penalty with the Gunners a step closer to opening the scoring.

However, in the 65th minute, the game changed. Takehiro Tomiyasu, who was booked for time wasting earlier was shown a second yellow card for taking down Jordan Ayew.

The Gunners held on in the game despite the pressure from Crystal Palace as they secured their second victory of the season.
