Karisa scooped four awards out of a possible 13, walking home all smiles, emulating former teammate Cesar Manzoki who took six in the previous edition.
“Joining Rayon Sports was a good feeling for me; I wanted a bigger challenge after what I had achieved at Maroons,” Tamale told Pulse Sports.
“My target really in Rwanda is to keep more clean sheets and also do better in my style of play as a sweeper because football has changed; goalkeepers now engage in playing the ball.”

The goal-minder, all smiles and clad in a suit, was awarded at the colourful awarding ceremony held at the Sheraton Hotel, Kampala on Thursday.
On Thursday night Tamale was named goalkeeper of the season a feat that fuels him more.
“First, it feels great to win this award (Goalkeeper of the season); for me, it was down to self-belief, confidence and my trust in God.”

To win the award, Mukundane, beat SC Villa skipper Gift Fred and Soltilo Bright Stars' Warren Buule.
“My second-round target was to pick up seven more clean sheets, which I did; adding those seven extra clean sheets took an extra effort, and I am grateful for being appreciated.”
Simon Tamale, who was also nominated in the player of the season category but fell short, also made the best eleven list of last season’s Uganda Premier League campaign.
Alongside compatriot Musa Esenu and Joackim Ojera, who is on the verge of a permanent move to the side, the shot-stopper will be expected to lead the ‘Gikundiro’ on the continent as well as guide the side to the Rwandan league title for the first time since the 2018/19 season.
