Gor Mahia was handed a transfer ban for failing to pay Malian keeper Keita up to $23,000 (Shs. 85 million) in January.

Uganda Cranes striker Patrick Kaddu will have to wait a little bit longer before completing his much-awaited move to Gor Mahia due to an active transfer ban on the club.

Gor Mahia was handed a transfer ban for failing to pay Malian keeper Keita up to $23,000 (Shs. 85 million) in January.

The club's chief executive officer Ray Ouro revealed that the club was working to clear the issue but that has not happened with about two weeks remaining until the close of the country’s secondary transfer window.

“We haven't been cleared by FIFA to sign yet. Working on some pending issues,” he told Pulse Sports.

Waiting

The ban has affected several players on their radar including Kaddu who moved to Nairobi in late January after a series of negotiations that started last year.

Kaddu joined Kitara at the beginning of the season from KCCA and regained his form scoring 15 goals in 13 matches that attracted the eyes of the Kenya Premier League defending champions.

Pulse Sports can confrim that the player is still a registered player for Kitara according to the FUFA Transfer Matching System (TMS).

“Our player Patrick Kaddu will be flying to Kenya to complete negotiations with Gor Mahia FC on Tuesday next week,” Kitara confirmed on January 22nd.
