Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel has come to the defence of star striker Harry Kane after the England international came in for serious criticism

In the wake of Bayern Munich's 3-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen, the spotlight turned to Harry Kane, the 30-year-old striker whose performance has drawn criticism.

Yet, amidst the backlash, Bayern's coach Thomas Tuchel stands firmly in Kane's corner, offering a different perspective on the striker's recent form.

Criticism of Kane Following Bayer Leverkusen Loss

Bayern Munich's loss to Bayer Leverkusen was more than just a setback in their Bundesliga campaign; it also triggered a wave of criticism towards Kane.

Renowned for his scoring prowess, Kane's inability to make a mark in this crucial clash has been labeled "The Kane Disaster" by some, with German publication Bild rating his performance as catastrophic.

Tuchel's Defense of Kane

Despite the harsh critiques, Thomas Tuchel has come forward to defend his player. Acknowledging Kane's dissatisfaction with his on-field connections, Tuchel pointed out the discrepancy between Kane's training performances and match appearances. "The way he scores in training, world class… incredible. But then we rarely find him in matches, so we’re working on it,” Tuchel stated, highlighting the team's effort to bridge this gap.

Beyond his goal-scoring ability, Tuchel praised Kane's leadership within the team. "He acts like a captain. Everything's okay with Harry Kane,” Tuchel remarked, emphasizing Kane's role as a pivotal figure in the squad. This support from the coach not only showcases Kane's importance beyond goals but also sets a positive tone for overcoming the current challenges.
