Italian pundit Giancarlo Padovan has slammed Napoli for not selling Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen last summer.
Osimhen has been the subject of transfer speculation since last season, following an impressive season in 2023 with Napoli.
After the 2022–2023 season, Napoli chose not to sell their star player and instead offered him a new deal.
However, Napoli are now looking to sell the striker this summer and Giancarlo has faulted them for not taking the opportunity.

Giancarlo on Napoli failing to sell Osimhen
Osimhen has gone from being a highly sought-after player to a striker with few suitors willing to pay his release clause in less than a year, according to Padovan.
Speaking with TMW on behalf of Sky Sport Italia, Padovan stated, "There won't be any offers for Osimhen, he was supposed to be sold last year: another mistake by President De Laurentiis.
"When they offer you 100 million for one, you must not be greedy and say next year he will be worth 20 more, because that is not the case.
"And now they find themselves with an Osimhen on their back and they don't know what to do with him, not because he has become a failure, obviously he is an important player, but in the meantime, they have given him a 10 million contract.
"This is a contract that Napoli cannot and does not want to tolerate, I would say rightly because they had made the calculation: we will sell him next year.
"You don't make these calculations, you take the money, especially if it's a lot, in the year in which they offer it to you. The following year all the dynamics change."
The Super Eagles forward has been linked to moves to Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United, but none of those teams have made an official approach to sign him.
Napoli have put in a release clause of 130 million euros on Osimhen which has put away Premier League and Ligue 1 teams from making an approach.
