Manchester United won their 13th premier league title ten years ago this season. Coincidentally, it was also Ferguson's last year in charge at the club after a trophy-laden 27 years.
As we reminisce, here is the team that won the league by 11 points over rivals and second-placed Manchester City.
David De Gea
The current United shot-stopper won his first and only premier league title that season.
He made 28 appearances that season and has become one of the all-time greats at the club, recently surpassing Peter Schmeichel as the all-time clean sheet record holder.
He has also made 401 appearances in the premier league.
Rafael Da Silva
The Brazilian right-back had a decent career at United with his overlapping runs and energy a fixture down the right-hand side.
He made 28 appearances that season, netting three times as he won his third premier league title.
Rafael left the club in 2015 to join Lyon and is currently playing for Brazilian top-flight side Botafogo.
Rio Ferdinand
The man that scored the final goal of the Ferguson era. Rio Ferdinand is considered one of the most decorated players of his generation and can match it.
He was an ever-present figure during the United dynasty and made 28 appearances that season in the league.
He would leave the club a season later, having won six premier league titles. Ferdinand currently works for BT Sport as a pundit.
Johnny Evans
Still playing at the highest level, Johnny Evans was the most consistent centre-back partner for Rio Ferdinand that season.
He made 23 league appearances that season, scoring three times. He left United after falling out with Van Gaal in 2015.
At the time, he had won seven significant honours, including three premier league titles and a champions league. He is currently playing with Leicester City.

One of the greatest players ever to play the left-back decision. Evra was a massive player for United for the nine years he was at the club.
He made 34 appearances that season, scoring four times. He left the club in 2014, winning ten major honours, including five premier league titles and a champions league medal in 2008.
Micheal Carrick
He is widely considered one of the most underrated players of his generation. Carrick was a mainstay in United's midfield for over a decade.
One of Ferguson's most trusted soldiers, he made 36 appearances that season in the league, quietly going about his business but to full effect.
He retired from the club in 2018 and has since gone into management. He was caretaker manager at United after Ole's dismissal and is now head coach at Championship side Middlesbrough.
Tom Cleverley
An academy graduate at United. It is easy to forget how important the Englishman was in the midfield that season.
He made 22 appearances that season, netting twice along the way. He left the club in 2015 after making 55 appearances in all competitions in Manchester.
He is currently playing for Watford FC in the championship.
Shinji Kagawa
The Japanese international was a revelation in the midfield that season as his energy and creativity could not go unnoticed.
He made 20 appearances that season and scored six times, including that famous hat trick against Norwich City.
Sadly his United career didn't hit the heights he could have wished for as he left in 2014. He is currently playing for Cerezo Osaka in the J1 league.
Antonio Valencia
A player that United fans are very fond of is the Ecuadorian. He provided alot of energy and pace up and down the right wing, as well as playing in different positions when needed.
That year, he made 30 appearances in the league, netting the solitary goal. He spent ten years at United, winning six significant honours, including the premier league(2) and the Europa League title. He is currently retired.
Wayne Rooney
The man that needs no introduction. United's all-time leading goalscorer was a pivotal contributor to yet another premier league title as he made 27 appearances netting 12 times and striking up a formidable partnership with Robin Van Persie.
He left United to join his boyhood club, Everton, in 2017, having won the lot with the red devils.
However, 12 significant honours, including five premier league titles, are just the tip of the iceberg of his career. He retired from football and is currently the head coach of the MLS side DC United.
Robin Van Persie
He is described as the man that won Fergie his last title. Van Persie joined from rivals Arsenal the year before.
And he appeared in all games during the season, scoring 26 times, including memorable ones like at Southampton and Aston Villa in the clincher game.
That was his only significant honour at United, and he left the club in 2015. He is currently in his first managerial position as an assistant at the boyhood club, Feyenoord.
