Whatever has hit the club has entirely spurned from financial constraints, a recurring problem with Ugandan sport.

It was meant to eventually come to pieces: the start of the 2023/24 campaign painted the picture of a disaster awaiting to happen, yet the club scalped through the first round.

The seven-time Uganda Premier League champions got off with multiple issues regarding player signings vis-a-vis the exodus at the start and later, in the middle of the season.

Those that came in, many of whom were youngsters, could only be soothed with meagre settlements.

Whatever has hit the club has entirely spurned from financial constraints, a recurring problem with Ugandan sport.

It has been reported the club owes players and staff months' salaries, coupled with accumulated dues in allowances.

With the situation not promising a near end, the players have tentatively laid their tools down.

Per multiple reports, players have not turned up for Monday's training, raising alarm to their loyalty.

Via the weekend, it was indicated Express head coach Alex Isabirye planned to exit the club after their 8-7 penalty shootout win over Rwenzori Lions in the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

The tactician was apparently sick of the far-from-consistent turn-up of players to training sessions.

Meanwhile, Express will be guests to host Soltilo Bright Stars in the League on Thursday this week.
