The Real Madrid boss has hinted at future plans on the Obi One Podcast.
Carlo Ancelotti has suggested that his current role at Real Madrid could be his final managerial position, with international football not as exciting.
The Italian tactician, who has enjoyed immense success throughout his career, expressed his preference for the day-to-day challenges of club management over the potential of coaching a national team.
Ancelotti was linked with the Brazil national team role last year, only to opt to remain with Los Blancos by extending his contract until 2026, taking him past his 67th birthday.

Speaking on the Obi One Podcast, the Italian boss stated that international football gives lessened excitement compared to club managment.
“I think it will be my last club, I have to say” Ancelotti said.
“If there would be an opportunity for a national team, I don’t know. I’m not so excited to be in a national team for the fact that I would lose what I like more, day-by-day. The day-by-day I like. To be here, to prepare the training, to talk to the players, to prepare the games.
“This is my season number 29 as a coach. It’s true that I have won a lot but imagine the number of titles I lost. I lost a lot.”
With a trophy cabinet boasting league titles from England, Italy, France, Germany, and Spain, as well as multiple Champions League triumphs, Ancelotti is undoubtedly one of the most decorated managers in football history.
“I had the luck, I went to the best team in England, in Spain, in Germany, I had the luck,” he continued. “But I was able to adapt to the culture. I tried to learn the languages. I learnt English, Spanish, French, I was not able to learn German, it’s impossible — not difficult, impossible!”
What comes next?
Ancelotti is preparing for the 2024-25 campaign with Real Madrid as Los Blancos seek to defend their LaLiga and Champions League trophy wins from last season.
The Madrid outfit face Mallorca in their league opener on August 18.
