One-cap Nigeria Super Eagles forward Anthony Nwakaeme is happy to be back in Turkey with Trabzonspor after helping them win the Super Lig.
Anthony Nwakaeme has made a dramatic return on a free transfer to Turkish powerhouse Trabzonspor, signing a two-year deal that will see him don the club's colours once again.
The 35-year-old Nigerian striker, who played a pivotal role in Trabzonspor's 2020/21 Super Lig victory, couldn't hide his emotions as he addressed fans upon his homecoming.

Today, I am very happy,' Nwakaeme gushed. 'Because today, after a two-year hiatus, I am back in Trabzon, back at Trabzonspor.'
Nwakaeme revel in Trabzonspor reunion
The forward, who netted an impressive 15 goals and provided 11 assists in 36 matches during the title-winning season, revealed how the club's supporters kept him connected to Trabzonspor during his time away.
There was a separation, but our fans made me feel as though I had never left, as if I were still playing here through their unwavering love on social media,' he added.
In a heartfelt message that will surely win over any doubting fans, Nwakaeme declared further:
'This place is familiar to me. This place is where I belong.'
The striker, who has been overlooked for Nigeria's Super Eagles, went on to praise the club's winning mentality:
'Trabzonspor is a club that always wants to win every match it plays. I also know that our fans share this desire, and I will always give my best.'
Trabzonspor officially confirmed the signing, with Nwakaeme putting pen to paper on a two-year contract.
The club will be hoping the veteran forward can recapture the form that helped them clinch their last Super Lig title.
As Nwakaeme swaps Saudi Arabia's riches for a second stint with the Turkish giants, all eyes will be on whether the 35-year-old can still deliver the goods in what could be the twilight of his career.
