Ex-Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh has expressed his disappointment following Nigeria’s shocking result against Lesotho at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Saturday.
The Super Eagles started their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers with a disappointing 1-1 draw against Lesotho on Thursday evening.

Although Semi Ajayi put the Super Eagles level with a brilliant header minutes later, Jose Peseiro’s men could not find the winner.
Following the match, the Super Eagles and the coaching crew came in for criticism from many Nigerians, including Oliseh.
Oliseh blasts Super Eagles' performance against Lesotho
The former Super Eagles captain expressed his disappointment in the result, saying the home-based players would have put in a better performance.
Oliseh further expressed his annoyance, saying no one would be punished for the disappointing result.
“Haba This nightmare go ever end? Woke up to this shocker this morning. Our homebased suppose dey beat Lesotho na! dem even first us score!!!! The painful part be say, no consequences for these national embarrassments sef,” Oliseh said on his Twitter account.
