At the point the Gunners topped the table, tickets for the final day clash with Wolves were reportedly being re-sold for £53,000 each.

Arsenal's 3-0 defeat to Brighton did not hurt just the diehards in the stands but some business-minded people who were reaping big from the team's recent success.

While fans were left with broken hearts, ticket touts were left pondering their next move.

The chances of Arsenal winning the first Premier League title are diminishing by the day, and the anxiety could end as early as Saturday.

At the point the Gunners topped the table, tickets for the final day clash with Wolves were reportedly being re-sold for £53,000 each.

But if there were any believers before the weekend action, that number must have gone down significantly by now.

Arsenal lost 3-0 on a weekend City beat Everton 3-0 to go four points clear with a game in hand.

And whereas some Gooners are refusing to lose hope, the previously ambitious ticket touts are counting losses.

The same seats that were being flogged for thousands in the hope of watching Arsenal's first title win since 2004 are now going for 150 times less.

Lower tier tickets - that usually go for £73 - are being sold on for around £345 for Arsenal's final game of the season.

If the touts expected a glimmer of hope from Mikel Arteta, the man at the helm, there was no such thing after Sunday's pummelling.

He told Sky Sports: "A week ago, I was standing here feeling proud, and today we have to apologise for the performance in the second half.

"It was not acceptable. Mathematically, it's still possible, but today it's impossible to think about it.

"We need to digest the result and the performance in the second half, understand why and have a different reaction."

Manchester City will win the title without kicking a ball if Arsenal fail to win against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

But if the Gunners get the win, City will still be crowned champions by beating Chelsea at home on Sunday.
