Todibo has also been on the radar of clubs Like Manchester United and Tottenham so far, largely thanks to his superb performances at the back for high-flying OGC Nice in the French Ligue 1.
Todibo has been a central figure in the OGC Nice defence that has conceded just nine goals in 17 games so far this season, the best defence in Europe's top five leagues.
For Chelsea, Todibo's arrival would most likely rubber-stamp the departure of 39-year-old Thiago Silva who is being phased out of the team despite still playing at such a high level.
