Moses Sseruyidde came to the rescue again in the second half as Kitara edged Police 1-0 to return to the top of the Startimes FUFA Big League table.

The match at Kigaaya Ground was pitting two of the four teams in contention for promotion this season, but Sam Ssimbwa’s Royals stood the test.

Sseruyidde found space from a freekick to curl it inside beyond Davis Mutebi’s stretch.

The win restores their lead after match day 23 with 46 points, opening a two and three-point gap with Mbarara City in second and Nec in third.

The Cops remain fourth with 40 points as Booma trail from a distance with 34 in the 5th place.

Jinja North United, who beat Nothern Gateway 1-0 in Lira, follow with 33 same as Calvary but higher on a better goal difference.
