Kenyan referee Peter Waweru Kamaku has been appointed as the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) for the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup final match between Yanga (Tanzania) and USM Alger of Algeria, which is set to take place on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Kamaku will work alongside a team of officials, including Zenith Makarima from South Africa as Assistant 1 and Mohamed Abdallah Ibrahim from Sudan as Assistant 2.

The match between Yanga and USM Alger is expected to be a nerve-wracking encounter between two top teams.
