After an unforgetable 2022–23 season, Tore Bobe's focus for the next campaign is being overshadowed by leadership wrangles.

Shabana FC's secretary Peter Omwando has denied Jared Nivaton's claims that he resigned from the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) club.

In a recent interview with a local radio station, Nivaton said Omwando had tendered his resignation and was thus no longer part of Tore Bobe's hierarchy.

However, Omwando, through a statement, dismissed the resignation claims and said he is in charge, especially of the club's bank accounts.

"My attention has been drawn to some media houses to the effect that I have resigned from the club. I put it on record that I am the bona fide secretary of Shabana since I was first elected on June 29, 2005, and re-elected again on August 18, 2021, with the following officials; Jared Nivaton (Chairman), Omwando (Secretary), and Sam Nyamweya (Patron)," Omwando said.

"I am still the registered secretary with the Registrar of Sports, who is the custodian of all the Sports Associations. I am also a signatory of our Bank Account Paybill No. 981730/ A/C 01134129852400 at the Co-operative Bank CBD branch, together with Jared Ombongo and Stephen Kiama.

"If there is any other account opened elsewhere without our authority, it is a fraud as it has not been sanctioned by the bona fide officials and Registrar of Sports. As far as I am concerned, our Patron can only be elected or appointed during an Annual General Meeting and not otherwise."

Tore Bobe are yet to begin their top-flight campaign, but leadership wrangles threaten to rock the boat within. There are questions on who is the patron of the club, with Sam Nyamweya insisting he is, while Nivaton said the club gave the patronship roles to Simba Arati, the Kisii Governor.
