The England skipper has been linked with a move away in search of trophies.
Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy has insisted Harry Kane does not need to join any other club to win trophies.
It is understood Manchester United have made him a top transfer target in the summer, but going by Levy’s latest statement, they are going to face tough negotiations if they are to land their target.
Kane has scored 273 goals for the North London club and is yet to win a trophy with them, fueling speculation he might leave. He has been with Spurs since joining their academy in 2004.
"He can absolutely win a trophy at Spurs," Levy said while speaking at the debating society of Cambridge University, according to Metro.
"But being a legend is also important. The fact that he's top scorer of Tottenham Hotspur – he's making history."

The Red Devils have already been linked with a number of top-level centre-forwards.
"I don't consider myself a special negotiator or anything like that, I'm just acting in the best interests of my club," he added.
"I think when it comes to the transfer, it depends on the balance of power.
"If you have a player who you really don't want to sell then you have every right to say no, you own the registration.
"It depends also on the character of the player, whether you feel at the end you can keep the player because we're operating in a team sport, and it's very important that we keep the team together. Every circumstance is different."
Kane could become a free agent next year and is expected to attract more suitors, with PSG and Bayern Munich also touted as possible destinations.
In the ongoing season, he has scored 25 goals – across all competitions - despite the fact that Spurs are not doing quite well.
On the international stage, he overtook Wayne Rooney as the Three Lions’ all-time top goal scorer with 55 goals.
