Tottenham Hotspurs has sacked their women’s first-team head coach Rehanne Skinner following a string of poor results.

Skinner joined the London-based side in November 2020 after a two-month spell deputising former Manchester United and Three Lions star Phil Neville.

“Since joining us in 2020, Rehanne has played an integral role in our development in the women’s game, both on and off the field,” Andy Rogers, the women’s team managing director, said.

“She has carried out her duties with the utmost professionalism and attention to detail, and we should like to thank her for everything she has done for us over the course of her tenure,” he added.

Rehanne is credited for guiding The Lilywhites to their best-ever fifth-place finish in the Women’s Super League and last four in the Continental League Cup last season.

The coach was relieved of her duties following a 2-1 loss to Liverpool at Prenton Park. She leaves the club with only nine points from 14 games, away from relegation.

Rehanne’s assistant Vicky Jepson will take the team for Wednesday’s home fixture against Leicester City.
