Mikel Arteta could take another player off Pep Guardiola’s hands after Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Arsenal have reportedly initiated preliminary discussions with the representatives of Julian Alvarez as they explore the possibility of signing the Manchester City forward, as per HITC.

The Gunners are in the market for attacking reinforcements and see Alvarez as a potential target, with the forward keen to leave the Etihad Stadium.
The 24-year-old Argentine has shown glimpses of his talent at City but has found opportunities limited due to the presence of Erling Haaland and the player’s agent has also reportedly held talks with Atletico Madrid.
While Man City have publicly stated their desire to retain Alvarez, Arsenal's interest could tempt the Premier League champions into considering a sale, particularly if a substantial offer is made.
A fee in the region of £70 million is likely to be required to convince City to part ways with the Argentine.
Arsenal chase another unhappy Man City player
Arsenal's pursuit of Alvarez is part of their ongoing efforts to strengthen the squad and challenge for the Premier League title after last season’s near miss.
Mikel Arteta has previously not been averse to returning to his old side to acquire unhappy players, with the Gunners signing Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko in previous transfer windows and the possible signing of Alvarez takes that number to three.
What comes next?
Arsenal are back in London after their United States Tour, and they face Bayer Leverkusen on August 7 at the Emirates Stadium.
