Although Leopards won their match, Trucha admitted there were certain aspects of the game that he did not like about his team.

AFC Leopards head coach Tomas Trucha was not fully happy with his side’s display despite their 2-1 win over Kariobangi Sharks in a match that took place at the Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday.

Two quick goals by Victor Omune and Boniface Munyendo were enough to ensure Ingwe kept the fire burning in their quest to finish as high as possible in the league.

However, with just two minutes left in the match, AFC Leopards were reduced to 10 men, as Randi Bakari was shown a straight red card. In the end, Leopards held on to their lead, securing all three points and reaching the 27-point mark.

Trucha has now revealed that, although he was happy his boys got all three points, he was not too impressed with their overall performance.

“I did not expect it to be an easy game especially if you saw the results yesterday (Saturday), even the small teams can punish you,” Trucha said.

“Sharks are a good team, they play good football with a good structure, so we tried to prepare for them as they did for us. They tried to put pressure on our defenders and goalkeepers which prevented us from playing like we do.

“During the halftime break, we discussed some things we decided to fix and we scored two goals early afterward.

“After both goals, we tried to bring in fresh legs to try and score another but it did not work, and we got a red card in the end, so yes, we are happy for the three points, we are happy with the two early second-half goals, but not happy with how we finished the game so we have to be better.”

The 1998 champions have now gone undefeated in each of their last five matches, while Kariobangi Sharks are now in the relegation places.

Ingwe are 10th in the league with 27 points and will be hoping they can extend their six-game unbeaten run in their next fixture against Murang’a Seal next weekend.
