Former Super Eagles midfielder Seyi Olofinjana has expressed his displeasure at the length of contract offered to new Super Eagles boss Finidi George by the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF).
Finidi was officially unveiled as new Super Eagles boss by the NFF on Monday, signing a one-year contract to navigate the team through 2026 World Cup qualification, and the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Olofinjana, reacting to the news, indicated that he was pleased for Finidi but expressed disappointment at the length of the deal.
“I think it’s good we have an ex-international, someone who knows what playing for Nigeria is all about, as the Super Eagles head coach, Olofinjana said on SuperSports.

"I think for me that trust has already been broken by giving the so-called young, inexperienced coach at this level a one-year contract.

"What is he going to do in a year? If truly they believe in him what is happening to a four- or five-year contract and say come what may, we trust you, and whatever happens along the way, we’ll trust you.”
Finidi's contract is reportedly worth around 15 million Nigerian Naira (approximately £25,000).
