Bandari coach Ken Odhiambo puts Tusker on notice ahead of crunch clash.

Bandari FC Head Coach Ken Odhiambo has exuded confidence that his charges have what it takes to secure maximum points against Tusker FC on Sunday at their backyard.

Odhiambo urged his players to bounce back to winning ways after their 3-2 loss against Talanta, maintaining that Tusker have a point to prove.

“We know Tusker was held to a draw by Shabana midweek, and they’ll come here with a point to prove, but we are ready to give our best and aim for all three points,” Odhiambo told Citizen Digital.

Odhiambo said the return of key players ahead of the match is a welcome boost to the side since the team really missed their services.  Goalkeeper Bryne Omondi and midfielder Robert Onyango are primed for minutes after proving their fitness. The dockers have also confirmed re-signing custodian Farouk Shikhalo, as the Coastal side aim for a perfect end to the 2024-25 season.

“I’m really pleased to have them back; they’ll add the strength we’ve been missing in our recent matches,” Odhiambo added.

After stringing together three consecutive wins, Bandari have suffered two losses on the bounce. The defeat to Talanta and KCB has left the team languishing in seventh position with 32 points from 22 matches, although they still have a chance to finish inside the top four.

Tusker are not better either. The brewers have drawn their last four matches although they remain second with 40 points. Tusker's stalemate began against KCB before registering another scoreless draw against leaders Police.

Despite making life difficult for Gor Mahia, Tusker played the entire match in a fruitless search for maximum points. Their latest draw against Shabana saw the team salvage a point in stoppage  time but the Bandari match will be another litmus test.

Elsewhere, Shabana will welcome Kakamega Homeboyz at Gusii Stadium in what promises to be a thrilling clash.

The Glamour Boys will be eager to make home advantage count and bounce back from their recent draw against Tusker.

With their passionate fanbase behind them, the Gusii-based side will be looking to secure a crucial three points against a high-flying Homeboyz outfit.

Kakmega Homeboyz, on the other hand, will come into the match with confidence after their impressive 3-1 victory over Murang’a Seal.

Currently sitting fifth in the league standings, the Abana Abeingo have been in solid form and will aim to extend their winning streak.

Francis Baraza's charges attacking prowess has been evident in recent games, and they will be keen to exploit any defensive lapses from Shabana as they push for a top-four spot.
