First half goals were enough for the Brewers to claim victory.

Tusker FC continued their strong unbeaten run of 11 games without defeat in the league with a comfortable 2-0 win over relegation-threatened Wazito FC at the Ruaraka Grounds on Wednesday afternoon.

Wazito's defensive frailties were exposed as early as the fifth minute when Laurence Luvanda's cross caused confusion in the box before keeper Ezekiel Owade tipped it over the bar.

Tusker continued to whip balls into the Wazito box, and in the 12th minute, the Muhoroni-based outfit finally bulged, as Eric Otieno headed the ball unmarked in the 12th minute, when he slotted Luvanda's cross into the back of the net.

The provider for the first would then get a goal himself in the 27th minute, when right-back, Daniel Sakari picked him out with a brilliant through ball, which he controlled well with his first touch before burying it with the second to make it 2-0.

In the 37th minute, Odera had to make an unexpected change, subbing off keeper Ezekiel Owade for Tom Muthomi.

Muthomi's heroics would be needed in the second half when Tusker captain Humphrey Mieno hit a virtually unstoppable shot towards his goal, which Muthomi parried away for a corner.

Robert Matano felt the need to give some squad players game time with Jackson Macharia, Stewart Omondi, and Shami Kibwana coming on for Luvanda, Eric, and Siwa Shaphan.

Kibwana was the next to test Muthomi's shot-stopping capabilities and the custodian did not disappoint, making yet another unbelievable save in the 67th minute to keep the result respectable for Wazito.

Although Wazito tried to shoot at every available opportunity, they just could not find the target, and the score ended 2-0.

The win now means Tusker are top of the league on 54 points, one ahead of Gor Mahia. Wazito remain 17th on the league standings with 13 points.
