The three top-tier clubs are all salivating over the midfielder, who is on the verge of leaving the Sudi-based outfit.

Tusker FC are leading the race to sign Nzoia Sugar midfielder Joseph Mwangi who has also attracted interest from AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia.

Reports indicate that Tusker head coach Robert Matano has met with Mwangi, as the coach hopes to have him at Ruaraka next season. The attacking midfielder was one of the shining players for the Sugar Millers last season.

However, intensified interest from the FKF Premier League heavyweights points to a possible departure by the midfielder in the transfer window. Mwangi - who is one of the most watched players in the transfer market - has also been linked with a move to Bandari.

Apart from meeting with Mwangi, Matano is said to have held talks with KCB goalkeeper Bryne Omondi. The KCB custodian has been linked with a transfer to Gor Mahia, but Tusker's interest means there is an expected fierce battle over the Harambee Stars goalkeeper.

The Bankers custodian was recently given his Harambee Stars debut during the Four Nations Tournament in Mauritius in June.

Meanwhile, Matano is keen to sign a goalkeeper, as Brian Bwire could leave the Brewers. Tusker lost Patrick Matasi in the last transfer window and were left with Bwire as their first-choice goalkeeper.

The former Premier League champions are in dire need of goalkeepers given that Michael Wanjala, who played second fiddle during most of his time at Tusker, is also leaving.

Matano's involvement in the club's transfer activities points to the possibility of the Premier League-winning coach remaining at the club. There were rumours that the club could part ways with him after finishing the season without a trophy.

They lost the league title to Gor Mahia before falling to Kakamega Homeboyz in the FKF Cup final.
