Tusker FC's Tanzanian forward Ibrahim Joshua is determined to stay in the Taifa Stars setup after returning from injury just in time for the delayed 2023 Africa Cup of Nations
Tusker FC's Tanzanian forward Ibrahim Joshua has revealed his determination to continue being in Adel Amrouche’s thoughts for the Tanzania national team after receiving a call-up in November following a long spell out with injury.
Joshua had an injury-blighted 2022/23 season but recently started featuring again for the Brewers.
Nonetheless, he was still called up to the Tanzania squad for their opening World Cup qualifying fixtures against Niger and Morocco, but he did not feature in any of the two games.
This, however, has injected a lot of desire in him to return to his best at club level in order to keep earning more caps ahead of what will be a busy year for the Taifa Stars.

The Tanzania international had been struggling to overcome a long-term knee injury that had been affecting him since 2022.
“It made me think a lot,” Ibrahim Joshua told the club’s YouTube channel.
“The first was, when I was still recovering from injury, I thought about the national team and was wondering whether my future with the side was still alive.
“But I was called up after playing just a few games for Tusker which made me realise that people were still looking at me.
“It showed me that there were people still relying on me, which effectively put a burning fire in me to push myself even harder.”

FOOTBALL Ex-Police boss Francis Baraza confirms move to Tanzania Premier League club
Baraza has returned to Tanzania to coach Dodoma Jiji FC after being sacked as Kenya Police coach back in September.
Joshua has earned three caps for Taifa Stars, having made his debut in March 2022 where he came on as a second half substitute in a 3-1 friendly win over Central African Republic.
His first start was against Sudan in a friendly days later, with his last call-up and involvement as a starter coming in September last year in a 2-1 friendly loss to Libya.
Joshua may still yet be called up to the squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations that will be taking place in Ivory Coast next January, but it will not be surprising if he gets left out altogether, considering he is still yet to return to full fitness at Tusker.
Joshua was Tusker’s top scorer in his maiden season in Kenya in the FKF Premier League, scoring 11 goals and providing four assists, in the 29 matches that he featured in.
