Night football in the Uganda Premier League has, since time immemorial, been a cry from various stakeholders, including the fans, administrators, the media, and sponsors.
It's set to come to realisation in less than 24 hours with Vipers SC and KCCA FC taking the leading role, having had floodlights installed at St Mary's Stadium Kitende and MTN Omondi Stadium Lugogo, respectively.
Vipers will play host to Blacks Power FC at Kitende on Saturday, while KCCA at Lugogo will take on UPDF on Sunday, both games under the lights.
And according to FUFA, the two matches will set a precedent for more of the same or not.
"However, the FUFA Club Licensing Committee will make a report after these matches to form the basis of further matches to be played under floodlights at these stadiums," said a FUFA statement on Friday.
"Any match under floodlights after that on any stadium in the territory of Uganda shall be held following the regulations to be published in due course."
However, it won't ultimately be a new phenomenon for the Venoms, who have already had two CAF Champions League matches against Simba SC and Raja Casablanca played at night.
Football under floodlights has been the dream of the more extensive section of fans, and this is set to positively heavily impact clubs' income through gate collections.
The fans' experience beyond just the football on the pitch is also set to attract more crowds and raise revenue in sales of different merchandise and other things. In the long run, more sponsors may be attracted to the game.
