Erling Haaland pointed out how easy it is to be a world-class striker like him
Manchester City’s goal machine, Erling Haaland, has revealed what he believes to be his superpower after scoring five goals against RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League.
Haaland’s incredible Leipzig performance
Haaland was in incredible form against RB Leipzig, scoring five of Manchester City’s seven goals in their 7-0 rout.
The 22-year-old became the fastest and youngest player to score 30 UCL goals after also becoming the youngest and fastest player to reach 20 goals earlier in his career.
He also joined Luiz Adriano and Lionel Messi as the only players in UCL history to score five goals in a single game, with only Messi and Haaland doing so in the knockout round.
He also became the first Manchester City player to reach 39 goals in a single season and set a new record for European goals by a Manchester City player in a single season with his 10th goal of the 2022/23 UCL campaign.
Haaland reveals goal-scoring secrets
After breaking so many records against Leipzig, Haaland was asked what his superpower was, to which he replied tongue-in-cheek, "My super strength is scoring goals.”
When pressed on how he managed to score so many goals against Leipzig, he said, “Should I be honest? A lot of goals today, I didn't think. I was just trying to get it into the back of the net.”
Haaland let us into his goal-scoring secret saying, “A lot of it is being quick in the mind and trying to put it where the goalkeeper is not."
It sounds very simple when Haaland says it, but it has proven to be a huge demarcator between regular forwards and great strikers like Haaland.
