Thomas Tuchel: Bayern Munich fans want German manager’s stay
Supporters of FC Hollywood do not believe the potential replacements are on the same level as the 2021 Champions League-winning manager, leading to an online petition gathering momentum.
Bayern vs Real Madrid
Bayern and Los Blancos battle in Munich, keen to make this year’s final after eliminating Arsenal and Manchester City, with the LaLiga giants dominating this fixture in recent meetings.
The Madrid outfit have not lost in their last seven matches against the Bundesliga giants, claiming six wins in that period, with the recent two semi-final meetings — 2013-14 and 2017-18 — going the way of the German club.
What Tuchel said before facing Real Madrid
Speaking ahead of Tuesday's game at the Allianz, Tuchel highlighted what his team must do to end a four-game losing home run against the Spanish side.
“We want to play the game in isolation, without any background thoughts. That’s important to ensure we have the freedom to play a top game,” said the Bayern boss. “We’ll try our all to win the game. Then we’ll know how things stand for the second leg.
“The job against Real is about getting enough people in attack to hurt them, but also not to expose ourselves. We need a good balance of discipline and freedom. Obviously, we also need some luck in the game, momentum.”
The reverse fixture at Santiago Bernabeu will be played on May 8.
