AFCON23Q Local-based legion to headline Cranes day one preps ahead of crucial Niger AFCON qualifier
The communique, shared on the local football governing body’s Twitter handle on Tuesday morning, confirmed the side will train at East High School Ntinda starting at 3 pm.
As reported by Pulse Sports earlier, on Tuesday afternoon, only 13 players, all but Charles Lukwago, were locally based as the side commenced preparations with a single training session at East High School Ntinda.
Pulse Sports understands head coach Micho will use the Villa friendly to determine which local-based players make the final 25-man squad set to travel to Morocco for the qualifier.
The Uganda Cranes, who sit third in Group F with four points, must win their final qualifier. They hope that Algeria beats Tanzania to qualify for their first AFCON tournament since 2019 in Cairo, Egypt.
