The side, which left Kampala on Saturday afternoon, touched base on Monday morning with a contingent of 16 players.

The Uganda Cranes are safe and sound in Marrakech, Morocco, ahead of their AFCON qualifier against Niger this Thursday.

According to a communique from FUFA’s Twitter handle, the Cranes are accommodated at the Hotel Ibis Marrakech Palmeraie.

“In Morocco, the Uganda Cranes contingent arrived safely in Marrakech and is accommodated at the Hotel Ibis Marrakech Palmeraie,” part of the tweet read.

“Sixteen players were part of the contingent that flew in from Uganda.”

FUFA also confirmed that seven more players are expected to join the camp on Monday.

“Seven more players will join today (Monday): Ibrahim Kasule, Ssebuufu Frank, Bevis Mugabi, Elvis Bwomono, Magoola Salim, Isma Watenga and Mato Rogers,” FUFA noted.

Multin Micho Sredejovic’s side is expected to have a light gym session on Monday morning and train later on the grass at 8 pm.

The Uganda Cranes sit third in Group F with four points and must win their final AFCON 2023 qualifier against Niger on Thursday as they hope that Algeria beat Tanzania.

The Cranes - Niger game will be played on Thursday 7th September at the Grand Marrakech Stadium.
