Ulinzi Stars captain Boniface Muchiri has rued tough luck for their worrying form so far this season after another draw with Tusker FC on Wednesday.

Debutant Bryan Kafero salvages point for Ulinzi against blunt Tusker
Tusker could not hang on to their slender advantage as Kafero came off the bench to net the equalising goal for Ulinzi Stars to help them share the spoils with the Brewers on Wednesday afternoon.
The international winger, who was recalled to Harambee Stars squad this month, said scoring has been the team's Achilles heel and believes they will have to rediscover their scoring touch for their first win of the season to inspire confidence into the team.
Ulinzi have scored a meagre three goals and conceded five, to rank 16th in the 18-team league. "It was a tough match but congratulations to the boys and everyone who contributed to the performance," Muchiri told Sports Eye. "If we scored the penalty, it would have given us more confidence, but that moment really brought us down. We improved in the second half and fought for the point," the former Tusker man added.

Ulinzi Stars' Boniface Muchiri on how mother's support helped him go through three-year Harambee Stars snub
Muchiri has been recalled to the national team for the first time since October 2021 ahead of Harambee Stars' crucial AFCON 2025 qualifiers against Cameroon.
Muchiri believes it's a matter of time before the team wins their first match. "Putting the ball at the back of the net is something that the team needs to improve. We have to ensure that we utilise our chances."
Charles Momanyi scored for Tusker in the 43rd minute before debutant Bryan Kefero salvaged a point for Ulinzi with an equaliser in the 48th minute.
