While the result all but confirmed UCU's spot in the knockout stages, it ended Kumi's season journey, as they can no longer make it past the group stages.

Uganda Christian University (UCU) needed a second-half resurgence to draw 2-2 with Kumi University in the Pepsi University Football League on Wednesday in Mukono.

While the result all but confirmed UCU's spot in the knockout stages, it ended Kumi's season journey, as they can no longer make it past the group stages.

First half goals from Stephen Nyalimo and Joshua Oosan looked to give Kumi the victory, but UCU surged back in the second half to pick a point.

Kumi took the lead in the 25th minute through a Nyalimo spectacularly taken shot before they doubled nine minutes later, courtesy of an Oosan header.

The hosts then pulled one back in the 66th minute as Gagganga headed in a Peter Kyomuhendo corner kick.

Six minutes later, UCU levelled matters through an Ofoyirwoth rebounded effort to see out the 90 with nothing to separate the two.
