Vipers SC and skipper Milton Karisa will not part ways any time soon as the club considers him a key piece of their CAF Champions League aspirations.

A source at the club that preferred anonymity quashed any possible move for Karisa away from the St. Mary's Stadium, Kitende.

"No doubt, Karisa will stay. He is still contracted with the club and will be important for us as we want to compete better in the Champions League."

While the source did not reveal the duration of Karisa's contract, it's believed he has a year left before it expires.

There was no attempts to reach the the player as Karisa is with the Uganda Cranes that is preparing for an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Algeria slated for Algeria on Sunday.

This backtracks reports earlier in the week that linked Karisa to a move to Rwandan giants and league champions APR.

The 27 year-old was arguably the best player in the 2022/23 Uganda Premier League season, which was clinched by Vipers, where he scored nine league goals and as many assists.

He was just as important in the club's Uganda Cup triumph where he scored the title-winning goal against Police FC in the 1-0 victory at the Akii-Bua Memorial Stadium in Lira.

Karisa has previously featured for Jinja Municipal Council, BUL FC and Moroccan outfi Moulodia D'oujda.
