Harambee Stars coach Engin Firat has revealed his side's ambitious targets ahead of Kenya's 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Burundi and Cote d'Ivoire.
Okumu's inclusion is part of a strategic effort to bolster the squad as they aim to secure maximum points in the qualifiers. "Joseph brings a wealth of experience and solidity to our defense. His presence will be invaluable as we face these critical matches," Firat remarked.
In addition to Okumu, midfielder Timothy Ouma joined the national team camp on Monday, 3rd June , while defenders Daniel Anyembe and Collins Sichenje are expected to arrive on Tuesday afternoon (4th June).
The team's first training session in Malawi took place on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at the Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe, where both upcoming matches will be played.
