UPDF FC put up a show of absolute guile and character as they came from a goal down to eventually beat Arua Hill SC 3-1 in the Uganda Premier League on Tuesday.

Samson Kasozi, Ivan Ahimbisibwe and Badru Jibril Nsimbe scored for the army side to cancel out a Jacob Kamwesiga opener at the Bombo Military Grounds.

Kamwesiga struck in the fifth minute past goalkeeper Emmanuel Were to give the guests a dream start, but the hosts were never fazed.

Following numerous attacks after that from UPDF, Kasozi grabbed the leveller in the 38th minute, a well struck effort past custodian Richard Anyama.

Ahimbisibwe then put UPDF into the lead at the stroke of halftime before Nsimbe sealed it in the 82nd minute, wrapping up a memorable home victory.

The result took it to three victories in succession for UPDF as they continued their pursuit for survival.

UPDF currently sit 12th with 21 points on the 15-team table, six points above relegation after 20 games. They will visit KCCA FC in their next league match on Sunday at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

Meanwhile, Arua Hill missed a chance to hit the top four, as they dropped to seventh with 26 points in 18 matches. They will host URA FC in their next game on Saturday at the Barifa Stadium.
