Asaba was also part of the Uganda Hippos team that reached the finals of the 2021 Africa U20 Cup of Nations in Madagascar.

Three Startimes Uganda Premier League sides are reportedly fighting for the signature of Vipers SC youngster Ivan Ashaba.

Asaba and Vipers agreed to terminate the player’s contract by mutual consent, and that means he is free to join any other team.

The midfielder still had a year left on his contract but has struggled to break into the Vipers' senior team.

The three teams fighting for him are said to be record champions SC Villa, Express FC and Maroons.

Asaba joined Vipers from rivals KCCA FC and played for St. Mary’s Kitende and the junior team before he was promoted to the senior side in 2021.

But with several signing coming into the team at Kitende every transfer window, Asaba failed to earn the trust of any of the coaches and finding a new home seems like the only right thing to do.

Whether he will eventually find a new home remains to be seen, with the transfer window still open.

Asaba was also part of the Uganda Hippos team that reached the finals of the 2021 Africa U20 Cup of Nations in Mauritania.

He also featured for the Uganda U17 but has yet to fulfil the promise and potential at the top level.

At 20 years, Asaba still has time to impress in the top flight, and it is no surprise that teams are after him.
