With five minutes added and the game looking like it was headed for spot kicks, substitute Laban Tibita found the decisive goal to send URA to the final.

URA FC have knocked KCCA FC out of the FUFA Super 8 Tournament following a 2-1 win in the semi-final Friday evening at the MTN Omondi Stadium.

Substitute Laban Tibita scored the decisive goal of the game in added time to send the URA bench and fans into celebrations and stun the home crowd with time expiring on the clock.

The fully-packed Lugogo was treated to brilliant football by the two sides, but it was URA that booked a ticket to the final.

A reasonably balanced second half had seen each of the two sides give as much as they got but with no final product until Tibita put the ball in the back of the net.

The home team were handed the perfect way to start the encounter after the centre referee pointed to the spot when midfielder Arafat Usama was brought down in the box in the fifth minute.

Midfielder Moses Waiswa fluffed the opportunity to give KCCA the lead, failing to convert a resultant penalty.

Goalkeeper Dennis Otim dived to the right side and saved the midfielder’s weak spot kick to keep the Tax Collectors in the game.

The visitors opened the scoring in the 24th minute, with debutant Ivan Ahimbiswe reacting fastest to head in Joseph Ssemujju’s cross from the left.

The striker would later force custodian Anthony Emojong into a brilliant save after leaving the KCCA backline for dead.

Philbert Obenchan restored parity in the 30th minute with a header of his own following Arafat Usama’s in-swinger.

Midfielder Goncalo Gui could have put the hosts into the lead instantly, but his volley off Herbert Achai’s cross missed the target.

With five minutes added and the game looking like it was headed for spot kicks, substitute Laban Tibita found the decisive goal to send URA to the final.

The Tax Collectors dedicated the win to fallen head coach Sam Timbe and will be looking to win the trophy when they take on BUL FC in next month’s final.
