He has set his sights on winning the Golden Boot by surpassing the 15-goal mark.

Strikers worldwide are often judged by their season’s goal tally. For Ivan Ahimbisibwe, who recently joined URA FC from UPDF FC, the desire to make a mark with his new team is what fuels him.

He has set his sights on winning the Golden Boot by surpassing the 15-goal mark.

“In my last two seasons with UPDF FC, I netted 20 league goals, with 10 in each season,” Ahimbisibwe shared with the club’s media.

“Here at URA FC, my goal is to exceed 15 goals and vie for the Golden Boot,” he added.

Ahimbisibwe has already made a strong start with the tax collectors, scoring twice during his debut in the FUFA Super Eight tournament’s semi-final, contributing to a 2-1 victory over KCCA FC.

He continued his scoring streak with his first league goal in a 1-1 draw against Soltilo Bright Stars.

Fred Muhumuza’s side, despite losing in the FUFA Super Eight final to BUL FC in a penalty shootout, has since gathered five points from three league matches.

They secured a win against UPDF FC and held Gaddafi to a goalless draw, followed by a 1-1 draw against Soltilo Bright Stars.

Ivan Ahimbisibwe is one of seven new additions to the club, alongside Denis Luzige, John Kisolo, Amis Bangwani, Godfrey Ssekibengo, Moses Aliro, Enoch Walusimbi, and Denis Otim.

The next challenge for the tax collectors is a home game against Wakiso Giants on Saturday.

SUPL Self-drive motivating Denis Otim’s excellence

Denis Otim exemplifies such an athlete. The goalkeeper, who has made a blazing start with his new team, URA FC, achieving two clean sheets and earning a Man of the Match award in as many games, attributes his success to his unwavering self-motivation.

The four-time league champions currently sit fifth with five points, just one behind fourth-placed Vipers SC, who will face Mbarara City on Tuesday afternoon.
