The Red Devils come into the game with a slight advantage, having won the first leg 2-1 in Cairo, with Percy Tau and forward Mahmoud Kahraba scoring in either half.

The countdown to the CAF Champions League second leg of the final which will feature record Egyptian champions Al Ahly and Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca, is well on.

The Red Devils come into the game with a slight advantage, having won the first leg 2-1 in Cairo, with Percy Tau and forward Mahmoud Kahraba scoring in either half.

In contrast, Saifeddine Bouhrati scored the consolation late in the second half for the defending champions.

Wydad head coach Sven Vandenbroeck says his side’s away goal will count as much on Sunday when the two sides square off.

“At 2-0, you think you’re dead, but with an away goal, it opens all the doors; I am pleased with what we did as a group; everyone who was given a chance to play performed their role well,” Vandenbroeck said.

“This is a very united group, and we played as a team; I hope we can be rewarded with this title on Sunday,” he added.

The Casablanca club is looking to win back-to-back CAFCL titles for the first time in their history and a fourth continental crown overall.

Meanwhile, Al Ahly is chasing a record-extending 11th CAFCL title and a third in four seasons.

Forward Percy Mezu Tau will be chasing a second CAFCL title, having won his first with Mamelodi Sundowns in 2016.
