Victor Boniface has drawn comparisons with Chelsea Legend Didier Drogba after another impressive outing for Bayer Leverkusen.

Boniface was the star of the day as he scored his third brace of the season in the Bundesliga to inspire Leverkusen to a dominant 4-1 victory over FC Heidenheim. 

The youngster, whose playing style has drawn striking parallels to legendary Ivorian star, Drogba, showcased his immense potential again in a thrilling five-goal clash on Sunday evening.

From the opening moments of the match, the 22-year-old radiated confidence and determination as he looked to add to his tally this season.

His first goal of the day, scored just nine minutes into the game, was an improvised and clinical that underscored his innate ability to find the back of the net.

The Nigerian star smartly turned in between two markers to create the chance for himself, with the finish as sublime as the build-up.

As the game progressed, Boniface’s influence only grew and in the 74th minute, he secured his brace, the third of the season, from the spot, further cementing his status as one of the most promising talents in German football at the moment.

Apart from his goals, Boniface completed the most dribbles (5) in the game, struck the post with a shot, won the most duels (8), and 100% of his tackles.

Leverkusen fans and football enthusiasts, who watched the latest show from the Nigerian, eagerly anticipate what the future holds for the Super Eagles' rising star, whose latest performance has seen some of the fans describe him as the mirror of Premier League legend, Didier Drogba.

Meanwhile, other scorers on the day for Die Werkself were Jonas Hoffman and Moroccan sensation, Amine Adli, who came off the bench to score the fourth goal while Eren Dinkci netted the consolation for the visitors.
