Nigeria's Victor Boniface has won the last four Rookie of the Month in the Bundesliga and could make it the fifth in a row.
Nigerian striker Victor Boniface’s meteoric rise could reach another milestone in the Bundesliga, with voting now open for the coveted Rookie of the Month award.
Boniface has been nominated for the fifth consecutive time, with the Super Eagles and Bayer Leverkusen striker facing competition from Merlin Rohl and Xavi Simons.

Boniface targets another win
The 23-year-old has made the Bundesliga Rookie of the Month award his, having won the last four following an impressive start to life at BayArena.
Boniface is now set for a record-extending fifth award after another outstanding performance in December for his record-breaking club, Leverkusen.
The Super Eagles man had a month to remember as he proved why he is Werkself’s contributor-in-chief this season with five goals contributed.
He netted three goals and assisted two more to help Xabi Alonso’s brilliant side become the first German club to remain unbeaten in its first 25 matches across competitions in a season.
Per the Bundesliga website, Boniface is improving his game on the attacking side.
“Boniface's conversion rate is also improving: whilst he needed nine shots to score across the first 12 matchdays, he only needed 10 shots for his three goals in December,” the league stated.
“He was also involved in a goal every 52 minutes he played (up from one every 86 minutes previously).”

Boniface faces familiar foes in the youngster Merlin Rohl from Freiburg, and RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons, the players he beat to his fourth in November.
His German club, Leverkusen, lead the calls for votes to ensure their Nigeria Eagle, who is the favourite, claims a record-extending fifth Rookie award.
