Nigeria and Super Eagles main man Victor Osimhen could realise his Premier League dream this summer after Sesko's future was confirmed.

Chelsea and Arsenal have been handed a potential lifeline in their pursuit of Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen after one of their striker alternatives committed his future to RB Leipzig.

The London rivals had been keeping close tabs on Benjamin Sesko as a younger, cheaper option to the red-hot Nigerian hitman this summer.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, however, has revealed the 21-year-old Slovenian will now be staying with the Bundesliga side next season after agreeing a new contract.

"Benjamin Sesko will stay at RB Leipzig and sign a new contract at the club," Romano stated on Instagram.

"He will sign on improved terms, with a new gentleman's agreement for a future exit."

Sesko's decision to rebuff interest from the Premier League big-hitters and continue his development in Germany mirrors Erling Haaland's move to remain at Borussia Dortmund in 2021 before his blockbuster transfer.

With one of their top striker targets now off the market, Chelsea and Arsenal may be forced to renew their interest in Osimhen if they want a new elite frontman.

The Super Eagles talisman has been in sensational form, scoring 15 goals in 25 matches last season in the Serie A despite a poor title defence by Napoli.

His blistering displays have seen Osimhen valued at around 130 million euros by his club, a figure that had previously cooled interest from the Premier League duo.

But with main targets like Sesko slipping through the net, meeting Napoli's mammoth asking price could become a necessary evil for whichever club is most desperate to solve their striker shortages.

Osimhen seems certain to attract serious interest in the summer after establishing himself as one of the world's deadliest hitmen this season.

And the 25-year-old may just have been granted a transfer lifeline to realise his Premier League dream by Sesko's Leipzig commitment.
