Victor Osimhen is yet to score for Galatasaray since his loan move from Napoli but manager Okan Buruk has no doubts about the Nigerian's quality.
Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk has refused to criticise Victor Osimhen's lack of goals, instead choosing to shower praise on the Nigerian striker for his selfless approach and immense contribution to the team’s success.
Osimhen has not found the net in his opening three appearances for the Yellow and Reds. Still, the Nigerian striker has made a significant impact with three assists in just three appearances.
Osimhen backed to find scoring boots soon
Buruk lauded Osimhen’s all-around game, emphasizing that his value extends beyond goal-scoring.
“Victor Osimhen’s game is very important,” Buruk said, per PlaySpor.
“Not everything is about scoring goals because you score goals but you lose the game.
"When he sees the net, he passes the ball to the closest player, he is not only focused on scoring goals.”
Osimhen positive goals will come
Speaking after the game, Osimhen remained upbeat about ending his mini-goal drought.
“Unfortunately, it was an own goal again,” Osimhen told Galatasaray’s official website.
“I feel it, my goal is very close. The most important thing is for Galatasaray to win."
Galatasaray are back in league action this weekend with a home game against Kasimpasa.
