Newly appointed head coach Charles Okere is confident in the team's preparedness for success.

Four-time Football Kenya Federation Women's Premier League (FKFWPL) champions, Vihiga Queens, are on a mission to not only qualify for the 2023 CAF Women's Champions League but also to spread love and inspiration wherever they go.

On a chilly Sunday morning, Queens paid a heartwarming visit to the Children Sports and Learning Centre in Korogocho, Nairobi, where they touched the lives of hundreds of young souls.

As they gear up to compete in the forthcoming CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers in Kampala, Uganda, their recent act of kindness has shown that they are not just exceptional athletes but also compassionate role models.

With newly appointed coach Charles Okere by their side, Queens have been relentlessly training since they hit the Camp Toyoyo Grounds on Sunday 23 July in Nairobi.

One notable presence during the visit was defender Phoebe Oketch, who recently joined Vihiga Queens from the Turkish side Hakkarigucu Sport FC.

In an interview, coach Okere expressed his confidence and determination ahead of the matches which are set to take place from August 12 to August 30 in Kampala.

"I have been with the team for several weeks now, and we have analyzed how our opponents played in their previous matches. As a team, we are ready for the campaign, and we are going to Uganda to win," said Okere.

Okere returned to Queens having led them to victory in the inaugural CECAFA Club Championship in 2021, held in Nairobi, where they triumphed over CBE of Ethiopia with a thrilling 2-1 victory in the final match at Kasarani Stadium.

Queens find themselves in Group B of the 2023 CAF Women Champions League CECAFA qualifiers.

Their opponents in this intense battle for supremacy are JKT Queens of Tanzania, AS Kigali Women from Rwanda, and New Generation FC from Zanzibar.
