OFFICIAL Vipers appoint Congolese as Isabirye's assistant

Vipers SC have completed the appointment of Democratic Republic of Congo national Lukusa Kayembe Raoul as head coach Alex Isabirye's deputy.

The former KCCA FC and Kinyara FC player has signed for the Venoms on a two-year employment contract.

The 51 year-old comes as the Venoms aim to build a stronger technical bench, which also has the likes of Richard Wasswa and Ibrahim Mugisha, in second assistant and goalkeepers coaches, respectively.

Previously, Kayembe coached at Butembo (DRC) between 2005-2007, later joined FC Mwanganza de Beni in 2008, Beni Sports between 2013-2014 and AS Kabasha de Goma in the DRC.

From 2014 to 2015, Kayembe had a coaching role at AS Dauphin Noir de Goma before becoming the assistant coach there, between 2016 to 2018.

He then had coaching roles at AC Capaco de Beni (2018-2019), FC Etoile de Kivu (2019-2020), returned to AS Dauphin Noir in 2020, before joining AS Bantou de Mbuji Mayi between 2021 to 2023.

Kayembe, a CAF 'A' license holder, has been in Uganda before, as he previously played for KCCA (2000-2002) and Kinyara FC between 2003 to 2004.
