However, head coach Alex Isabirye is not concerned at the amount of criticism their team is facing and insists he is only focused on achieving huge, starting with Saturday's bout against Blacks Power FC at the St Mary's Stadium Kitende.
Vipers SC has so far failed to turn on the style in the current campaign and face a huge task of defending their StarTimes Uganda Premier League title.
The Venoms looked certain of garnering maximum points in the last game against Maroons FC, only for Fredrick Kigozi to dent them at the death, to draw huge backlash from their faithful and the media.
However, head coach Alex Isabirye is not concerned at the amount of criticism their team is facing and insists he is only focused on achieving huge, starting with Saturday's bout against Blacks Power FC at the St Mary's Stadium Kitende.
"We want to achieve something big, of course. After dropping points in our last encounter against Maroons FC a lot of people are speaking about this team about this club," Isabirye told the club media
"But I will say no season finishes after 15 or 20 games. We still have games still in front of us, we know we have to improve a lot of things and I'm sure we will do that."
Isabirye wants that message to spread to the entire squad, he also needs them to stay as a whole if they are to turn the season around.
"A lot of people try to speak and to kill a little bit the players and the team, but have to stay together as a team."
"The strongest thing to do at the moment is to be together, and then we will we be stronger and give the results on the pitch after," a rather calm Isabirye added.
Vipers currently sit fourth on the 15-team log with 29 points, 11 adrift of table-toppers SC Villa, who have played four games more.
Meanwhile, Blacks Power continue to fight for survival as they are 14th after 20 games, having accumulated just 16 points.
However, they managed a character-filled one-all stalemate against contenders KCCA FC last time out.
That said, the Kitende side edged out a tightly contested encounter in the first round against tomorrow's guests, with Ashraf Mandela's penalty sealing all points at the Aki Bua Stadium.
