Kambale, who joined the Venoms on transfer deadline day from Sudan's El-Merrikh, has been out due to a lack of fitness but is now available for selection.

Vipers SC striker Erick Kenzo Kambale is set for his first-ever appearance for the Uganda Premier League champions as they take on SC Villa on Friday under the St. Mary's Stadium, Kitende floodlights.

Kambale, who joined the Venoms on transfer deadline day from Sudan's El-Merrikh, has been out due to a lack of fitness but is now available for selection.

He has trained with the side for the past four weeks and will be in contention for the hugely anticipated encounter should head coach Leo Neiva require his services.

"I've been doing more in recent training sessions, and I'm starting to really feel better than when I came," Kambale told the club media.

"Training for the past three weeks has been tough, but I'm getting there. You must be professional, work and try to improve daily."

Meanwhile, defender Hillary Mukundane is still out with an injury that has kept him out for over two months now.

Mukundane damaged his Posterior Cruciate Ligament (PCL) and last featured for Vipers in the CAF Champions League preliminary round against Jwaneng Galaxy in the first leg.

Ghanaian forward Fumador Asiwome, signed in the August transfer window, will not feature due to languishing strain.

On the other hand, attacking midfielder Allan Okello continues with treatment on his nagging knee and will not feature till the second round.

Vipers hope to extend their recent home dominance over Villa, whom they have beaten on the last three occasions at Kitende.
