Head coach Roberto Oliviera was left disappointed with his side saying their final third is an area that needs urgent improvement.

Vipers SC walked through the tunnel at the Benjamin Mkapa stadium after their 1-0 defeat to Simba with several notes to ponder on.

The Venoms created goal-scoring opportunities in the game, but Ibrahim Orit and Abdul Lumala failed to convert.

Head coach Roberto Oliviera was left disappointed with his side saying their final third is an area that needs urgent improvement.

"I am sad about the loss (vs Simba) today, but my players gave everything," he noted in the post-match press conference.

"That said, we have to work on our final third, tactically the players are not ok in that area," he added.

The Brazilian-born Spanish coach was mindful of how to approach the situation.

"We definitely would want to have a player in that position, but we are mindful of the resources needed to do it."

"These players cost a lot of money, so we shall try and teach the players how to be sharp in front of the goal," he added.

The loss means the Venoms have yet to find the back of the net in eight games, preciously since Roberto Bianchi was named as head coach.

When quizzed further, the Spanish-speaking coach needed help finding it.

"I have explained countless times that I can't score goals as a coach. I can only tell the players how to do it; if they don't, then we have a problem."

The loss leaves the Venoms bottom of the group with one point after four match days; next up for Vipers is the inform Raja Casablanca.

The green eagles have won all four fixtures, topping the group with 12 points.
