Following his misconduct in Vipers SC's 1-0 victory over arch-rivals KCCA FC, the former's goalkeeping coach, Ibrahim Mugisha is set for the FUFA disciplinary whip.

The CAF A licence holder was involved in a physical altercation with KCCA players, particularly Simon Tshisungu Kankonde, after Vipers' player Abubakar Lawal was shoved down.

Mugisha attracted an instant red card from centre referee Mashood Ssali on the advice of fourth official Shamirah Nabadda, who had paid a keener eye to the unattractive events.

"The FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel (FCDP) has opened disciplinary proceedings against Vipers SC Goalkeeping Coach Ibrahim Mugisha regarding incidents in the context of violent conduct that happened on Friday 5th May 2023 as his club hosted KCCA FC at St. Mary's Kitende Stadium," a FUFA statement partly reads.

"The proceedings were opened drawing attention to Article 31 of the FUFA Competition rules and regulations."

"Mugisha is required to submit a written response to FUFA via email by Monday 8th May 2023, 5:00 pm," it concluded.

Vipers is in the hunt to defend the Uganda Premier League title as they currently sit second with 45 points, one adrift of leaders SC Villa, who have played two games more.

The Kitende side will be back in the fray on Tuesday against a tricky Soltilo Bright Stars FC at the Kavumba Recreation Grounds.
